It was a rainy day in Woodbridge, Virginia, for Marisol and Diego’s Oprey’s at Belmont Bay Wedding. While the wedding was scheduled to be an outside event, the Northern Virginia weather had different (and wetter) plans for all of us. With hope, the entire wedding team, the bride and the venue coordinators, waited until the last possible minute to move the event indoors. No fear! That didn’t ruin the day! The good news is that even after moving the ceremony to the venue’s inside location, the decor was plenty enough to compensate for the rainy day and everything still looked beautiful.
Marisol and Diego hand made their green backdrop to which they would be married against. Later also used behind their head table during dinner.
This beautiful couple’s big day was filled with amazing moments and memories with their family that will be cherished forever. Tons of group photos and mingling! And they really integrated their Bolivian culture.
It was so fun to watch the room come alive as the two sides all danced in sequence to some traditional Bolivian dances. Ironically, Marisol and Diego actually met while Marisol was a Bolivian dancer herself, wearing an ornate, colorful folk costume. We really loved watching the stamina of these dancers. The dances were all rather physically demanding, including lots of jumping and clapping from the crowds.
Oh, and we almost forgot, Diego even surprised the crowd with a full hour of Mariachi music before dinner. Good music, family, and all smiles is what this wedding was all about! Congrats to Marisol and Diego!
