Emily & Joe’s Westchester County Wedding was a classic upstate New York celebration.
During our initial consultation with Emily and Joe, we knew their wedding would be an elegant affair. For starters, Emily described her hometown of Katonah, NY as if it could have been the backdrop for The WB series, ‘Gilmore Girls.’ She was totally right! Alie is a fan of the show and the town had everything that Emily had described; inviting shops, cheerful people walking about, quaint churches, and beautiful homes that have a history all their own.
In the 1890s, to make way for a new reservoir for New York City, the people of Katonah (Bedford) decided to move their village – including the buildings. We had actually known about the town’s history thanks to a TV documentary. So, we were really excited to finally get to see it in person.
The church in which Emily and Joe got married is over 100 years old! In fact, St. Mary of the Assumption, was one of the original structures that was literally picked up and moved in 1894. The town is a perfect depiction of Northeastern Queen Anne style of architecture. For the architecture nerds, this is Victorian dreams! As beautiful as the town is, Katonah was only part of this couple’s charming story.
Emily chose a Sareh Nouri wedding dress from A Little Something White Bridal Boutique. The dress, OMG! How stunning! It was delicate and dignified, and fashionable and luxurious. Emily truly lit up the church as she walked down to meet her husband to be. Joe stood handsomely tall in a modish stance.
At the conclusion of Emily and Joe’s ceremony, friends and family cheered while ringing bells as the couple made their grand exit. Is so super romantic!
Afterwards, the couple’s reception was held at Anglebrook Golf Club. For cocktail hour, drinks and hors d’oeuvres were served in the lobby of the venue and the adjacent outside patio.A formal dinner followed and was held in the club’s beautiful dining room. We rode around via a covered golf cart to selected spots on the golf course to capture bride and groom photos. The course green was so vivid under the moody clouds. We love the way their photos came out.
Congratulations Emily and Joe!
