We’re excited to share Iljana & Giuseppe’s elegant Washington DC Wedding at St. Francis Hall! Significantly, part of the larger complex of the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America, St. Francis Hall is located in the Northeast quadrant of Washington, DC.
If you’ve never been to the monastery before, it’s a must see! Regardless of your religion, the gardens are simply gorgeous to walk around on a nice day. In the spring the monastery is flooded with beautiful roses and other florals. St. Francis Hall is truly one of the district’s hidden treasures! Part of the garden, not seen on this blog post, is a grotto feature. Certainly the perfect spot for praying or meditation, or an elegant Washington DC Wedding.
Our day with the couple began at the venue with the groomsmen. Later followed by the arrival of the bride just prior to the ceremony. One of the most endearing moments of the afternoon was Iljana’s “first look” reveal with her Grandfather, a very kind man and proud veteran of World War II . It was so tender and sweet to see their special relationship. Iljana was overjoyed with happy tears and was proud to have him walk her down the aisle to be married.
The ceremony took place in the adjacent garden of St. Francis Hall with a hand made arbor. After exchanging vows there were lots of smiles and joyful laughs. The couple’s first kiss left Giuseppe with a little bit of Iljana’s lipstick! She lovingly turned his face away from onlookers to clean it for him and turned out to be – a very endearing moment.
We crossed the street to the grounds of the monastery for quick photos of family, the wedding party, and the bride and groom.
This Washington DC Wedding at St. Francis Hall was a beautiful celebration held in the elegantly decorated hall. How gorgeous is the inside of this space?!
As the guests waited for the couple’s introduction while Iljana changed into dress number two. For their grand entrance, the couple surprised everyone with a beautifully choreographed first dance and let me tell you, they have some moves! Backstory: the couple actually met at a dance studio!
Throughout the evening we spent our time capturing the couple greeting and dancing with family members, celebrating, and having a great time with the guests. The elegant affair ended in a tradition sparkler exit! We love the day and had a great time being part of this Washington DC Wedding at St. Francis Hall. We wish the couple a lifetime of bliss!!
