Lauren and Jona’s Farm Wedding in Southern Maryland was filled with such joy! Truly, they really had everything a SOMD bride and groom could ask for, plus more. A picturesque property…rustic barns… homemade artificial florals… But, when you add horses, classic cars, and even fireworks, your BIG day cascades to new heights.
After we photographed their engagement session in 2018 we were so excited that their wedding would also take place on the family’s farm in Southern Maryland. Surrounded by woodlands, the farm is as country as Southern Maryland gets! The family runs it’s own horse farm, and has an array of other animals including chicken and goats. Remember the cute goats from their engagement session? The property lends itself for great photography with its warm textures and friendly livestock. It’s really hard to take bad pictures there!
We spent most of the morning our with Lauren who had us giggling the whole time. She’s a real genuine angel. Her sisters and best friends served as bridesmaids and helped her get ready. We think they were just as excited as she was!
One of our favorite moments of the day was during Lauren and her dad’s ride to the ceremony in a classic red 1960s Buick. However, as photographers we often witness what happens behind the scenes which are the most touching and intimate moments of the day. Anyone can clearly see how strong the relationship is between them. It was so special to peek into this moment.
On their wedding day, Lauren and Jona keep things pretty traditional. Notably, they each got ready in different locations on the property. Of course, letting the anticipation build before the reveal as Lauren walked down the aisle. Which brings us to that moment!
The ceremony took place on a small green grassy knoll located just above the reception area. The small field was surrounded by trees that seemed like they grew there just for the occasion. The beautiful custom arbor, and other handmade decorations added little personalized touches everywhere.
We wish these two, who literally tied the knot, a joyful marriage!
