Southern Maryland Engagement Session: Kaitlyn & Matt Engagements

Kaitlyn and Matt are engaged! In anticipation to their upcoming wedding this Fall, we took the couple for a walk on the beach – literally! These two are really fun to work with and we love the emotion we captured during their sunny Southern Maryland Engagement Session.

Southern Maryland has special meaning to the couple. This is where Kaitlyn grew up, but it is also where Matt has decided to move his life. The future Mr. and Mrs. initially met online. After nearly a year of talking and getting to know each other, Kaitlyn took a leap and made a trip to Massachusetts where they FINALLY met in person. The rest is history! They dated long-distance for two years until Matt transferred to SOMD to be close to his love. This real-life Facebook romance has us feeling all warm and cozy!

One early morning, while the pair vacationed with both sets of parents at the North Carolina beach town of Nags Head, Matt surprised Kaitlyn with a proposal by writing “Will You Marry Me?” in the sand. At sunrise, in her pajamas, Kaitlyn said “yes”!

When Kaitlyn and Matt get together, they both light up. It’s amazing to see just how in love they are and to feel the excitement for their upcoming wedding. Meeting them for their engagement session truly brought us a lot of joy. When we arrived at the park, the sun was fully shinning – there was not a cloud in the sky! Bright sun makes us photographers pretty nervous. Thankfully, to reach the secret tucked away beach, we had to navigate through wooded paths that served as our natural shades.

Along for the ride was their Miniature Schnauzer, Koda. Koda nearly stole the show. I mean how cute is a puppy supposed to be- look at that face! Koda seemed to love the beach just as much as Kaitlyn and Matt. He definitely loves to walk with his humans! The next time we get together will have to bring Monty so they could play together!
