Paige & Marquise’s Outdoor Wedding in Southern Maryland was an event to remember! We already knew this couple was going to have a lovely wedding. Especially after we photographed their Engagement Session at National Harbor last year. However, what we did not know, was just how awesome and fun their entire wedding was going to be. From their cute their outdoor space, to their dancing-filled night, this Southern Maryland DIY Wedding had it all!
We spent the morning at two different locations for individual prep and family photos. The groomsmen tight bond since high school really showed. During their prep time they were able to relive their memories as they played a game of basketball like the “old days.” Meanwhile, Paige introduced us to their cute dog Casey. Her sisters, and her closest friends helped Paige get in the dress and it was all smiles from here-on-out! Ready to go, we followed the couple separately to their ceremony site. While Marquis waited for his bride, Paige pulled up in a stretch limousine for her grand entrance. Paige & Marquise choose the venue, Gray’s Beach, which beautifully sits right on the water in Charles County, Maryland. The spot is nestled in a small channel off the Potomac River surrounded by tall grass, woodlands, and farmland. At the water’s edge, next to a boat launch, was a wooden pavilion that the couple had transformed into a gorgeous reception space. Can you believe that the couple, with the help from family, created this entire vision themselves! Paige did an amazing job with the DIY decorations! Holding back no punches, the decorations where plentiful. Personal details and touches could be found everywhere you looked. String lights hung from the ceiling, florals were everywhere, and the table settings were themed and elegant. They had cake and cupcakes! Which by the way were probably our favorites of the year. (Indeed, we tried them and they were simply delicious!) The cupcake display was a three-tiered construction and a very good use of space. The photography highlight was certainly using smoke grenades during some of the bride and groom portraits! However, the wedding highlight certainly had to be the DANCING! Best we’ve seen all year! I don’t think there was a single person sitting down. Everybody seem to be on the dance floor I having the time of their lives. Congrats Paige and Marquise! May your lives always be filled with lots of dancing and fun parties!
