National Mall Engagement : Debralee & Jason

Remember our annual Engagement Session giveaway we do every Valentine’s Day?! Well, this lovely couple won and decided to do a National Mall Engagement Session at the Washington DC Tidal Basin!

Bringing along their furry family member, Honey! Debralee’s dad was kind enough to tag-along to handle honey, while we photographed the a couple. When we added Honey to the mix, she surely stole the show! How cute!

Any National Mall Engagement should include the Jefferson Memorial, so that’s where we started then making our way along the Potomac River.

Although cherry blossom season is officially over, there are approximately 10 of varieties of cheery trees in the Tidal Basin area. We were able to find the patch of the gorgeous Kwanzan Cherry Blossoms , that were fully bloomed. These trees have a much “darker pink, multilayered flower that looks a bit like a small rose. The trees themselves are quite low to the ground, so they’re especially good for getting a close look at the flowers (or for posing next to in photos).”

The contrast of the pink and white flowers added a gorgeous background to our session and provided a depth that we really love.
