Brittany & James’ Brookside Gardens Engagement was so much fun! We always love to explore new shooting locations, so we were thrilled when one of our 2020 couples-to-be gave us just this chance! What better place than the beautiful grounds at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, Maryland for their Washington DC engagement session?
We met Brittany and James one chilly late Fall morning ready to conquer the spanning landscapes and lush greenery that the Brookside had to offer. As we explored the property we were amazed at the beauty and serenity of the gardens. No wonder, there is really a lot of opportunity for a photographer to have fun here. Also, we were lucky enough to still have plenty of fall colors left on the trees!
We tried to utilize the most dramatic parts of the property by placing them in the tea house located on one of the lakes on the grounds. Then, one of our favorite spots turned out to be the rose garden and its surrounding trellis covered walkways. Brittany and James certainly had fun walking and laughing together through the landscapes. It’s hard to take a bad picture here! Decorated with string lights and beautiful flowers, the scene created a nice bokeh look to the photos. And Brittany and James did so well! We are really looking forward to their upcoming wedding next month!
If you’ve never been to Brookside Gardens before, please plan to do so right now! The property is located in woodlands just a short ride from Washington, DC city center. The landscapes there are stunning and the gardens are tranquil. There’s plenty of open space and walking trails on the property and to put it simply, the gardens make you forget you’re near a city at all.
